Tom Stevens opened with a prayer at 7 pm. The meeting was held in the Great Hall.

Vestry Present: Tom Stevens, Matt George, John Garton, Kathy Means, Larry Norfleet, Bill Hickman, Becky Roberts, Jesse Ventura, Lea Hutchins, Seth Cosans, Sue Breakie and Sandy Lind. Absent: None

Becky Roberts motioned; seconded by John Garton, to approve the minutes from our September meeting. Motion passed unanimously.

Carl Kuntz asked individuals of the Vestry, what he should know about St. Anne’s. We went around the room and each Vestry member spoke. Carl will be in the church office Tuesday and Thursday mornings ( 9 am - 12 noon) and pastoral care those afternoons. He mentioned that it’s important to be connected to both St. Anne’s school and St. Andrew’s. He will also work closely with the worship committee. He will begin adult education on October 23 at 10:45am ( discussing the Book of Common Prayer).

Treasurer’s Report

$108,341 collected pledges (through August)

$121,538 forecast pledges (through August)

Met with the auditor last week and final report is not yet complete. There were several suggestions from the auditor. There was not a finance committee in September. The numbers are being gathered for the 2012 budget. We need to think about having a budget workshop meeting before the annual meeting in January.

Worship (Kathy Means)

The feed back on the new worship times and music are good. The feeling is positive.

Church School (Lea Hutchins/ John Garton)

Registration in September -

   RT 13   10 kids (3 leaders)

   J2A         4 kids (3 leaders)

   YAC       13 kids (2 leaders)

There are space concerns - can use the second floor of the rectory for J2A.

There were 20 participants for the “mud run”. They had lots of fun.

The leaders went to Washington DC for training. They also went to “safe church” training last Sunday.

From John:

Atrium 1   13 students

Atrium 2   15 students

Sunday school   10 students

Communications/Outreach (Jesse Ventura/Sue Breakie)

The start-up soup kitchen has been referred to the MOT senior center (they have an approved kitchen). Plans for the Thanksgiving dinner are under way. Also Christmas baskets.

Property (Matt George)

Guardian gave us a price to replace the fence between the Great Hall and Smokey’s of $4,700.

Stewardship (Seth Cosans)

The golf outing raised about $2,000 for their first year. There were 18 golfers and all 18 holes were sponsored. Great volunteers.

The letter and RSVP cards for celebration Sunday are going out. Several members will speak at services about what St. Anne’s means to them.

Matt George will head the nominating committee for new Vestry members.
